This satisfies the NJ requirement for burglar alarm licensees to take at least 3 hrs in residential smoke detection before renewal.

Carbon Monoxide and the Code

This course provides attendees with a firm foundation for what carbon monoxide is and the codes and standards relative to Carbon Monoxide Alarms as well as how and when they should be applied. 

NJ Barrier Free Subcode

This course satisfies the NJ State Licensing Requirement for 2 hours of training in the Barrier Free Sub-Code for Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Licensees.  The course explains the purpose of the code and its relationship to other standards such as IBC Chapter 11, ANSI A117.1 and the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as the responsibility of the Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith contractor relative to all these requirements.

NJ Uniform Construction Code

This course satisfies the NJ State Licensing RENEWAL Requirement for 2 hours of training in the Uniform Construction Code for Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Licensees.  The course explains the relationship to adopted standards, an overview of the permit and inspection process and the responsibility of the Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith contractor relative to all these requirements.

National Electrical Code Based on 2017 Edition

We review how the NEC applies to Fire Alarms, Burglar Alarms, Access Control and CCTV Systems

NICET 1 Fire Alarm Prep Course

 We review reading blueprints, understanding statement of work, performing inspection reports and other required documentation.  We review codes applicable to fire alarm systems including the IBC, IRC, IFC, NFPA1, NFPA 101, NFPA 70, NFPA 72, UL 864, OSHA 29. We also cover basic job-site safety and best practices, math and electronics used in the trade, circuits and voltage drop, electronics formulas and battery calculations.  There are all knowledge elements needed to be successful with the NICET 1 exam.

This course will help you prepare for the NICET 2 Fire Alarm Exam.   We review parts of NFPA 72, NFPA 70, International Building Code, IFC, IRC, NFPA 101.  We review elements of a shop drawing, performing site surveys, project management functions, measuring ceiling pitch or slope, performing take-offs, calculating number and spacing of devices, drawing symbols, reading and interpreting building system plans, using Gantt Charts, Basic logistics terminology, sequence of operation matrix, system startup and diagnostics, basic troubleshooting, fire-stopping practices, lock-out-tag-out, mentoring others,on-site coordination and communication and more.
