How many CEU's do I need for each license?
The basic requirement for each license is 24 Credits (24 hours per license). Holders of multiple licenses may need fewer total credits since ten credits (the required courses) can be shared between licenses.

What is a NJ course code?
NJ provides course codes as follows:
TECBA - Technical Burglar Alarm - Applicable to a Burglar Alarm License only
TECFA - Technical Fire Alarm - Applicable to a Fire Alarm License only
TECLS - Technical Locksmith - Applicable to a Locksmith License only
TECES - Technical Electronic Security - Applicable to Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm or Locksmith License
TECBF - Technical Burglar or Fire Alarm
BUS - Business Course - Applicable to Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm or Locksmith License
L/C - Laws and Codes - Applicable to Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm or Locksmith License
SAF - Safety - Applicable to Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm or Locksmith License

What is the refund policy for classes?
- Requests for cancellation refund received 1 week before a scheduled in person class or on-line webinar will receive a full refund.
- Requests received less than one week but before the day of a scheduled class are eligible for a credit on-account of 75% of the class cost.
- Requests for a refund before an on-demand class is accessed will be provided with a full refund
- No show students or on-demand classes not accessed for 90 days after purchase may be eligible for credit on account up to 50% the class cost after review by company.

Who governs the alarm and locksmith trades in NJ
The installation, service and monitoring of Fire Alarms, Burglar Alarms, Access Control, CCTV, Intercoms and Mechanical Locksmithing are all governed by the NJ Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Advisory Committee. What CEU Courses are required in NJ for Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmiths?
There are five subjects that are required for license applicants and for renewal for Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Licensees.
At least 2 hours in each of these subjects are required for renewal and for all applicants.

How do I know what courses count as a NJ CEU?
NJ approved CEU courses are approved by the NJ Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Advisory Committee before the course is offered. The Course, Course Sponsor and Instructor must all be approved. Upon completion of an approved course, Licensees are given a certificate the includes the Advisory Committee Approval Course Code, the instructor and instructor number, the sponsor and sponsor number and the licensee name and license number. If in doubt, ask the instructor and sponsor for a letter of approval for the course.

When do I need to have all my CEU's complete?
All NJ Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Licenses renew at the same time on a three year cycle. The next renewal date is Aug 31, 2025. Thereafter, Aug 31, 2028 and so on. Before you renew, you must attest that you have completed all your CEU's
