Fire Alarm Basics as they pertain to residential smoke detection systems.  You'll learn the technical and real difference between Smoke Alarms and Smoke Detectors and what the significance is for you and your customers, You'll also learn the difference between required and supplemental smoke detection and much, new smoke detector requirements, etc.

 This course is required for burglar alarm license renewal and also applicable for fire alarm licensees and NICET.  We cover applicable sections of the IRC 2021 NJ Edition and NFPA 72 2022 edition including several new requirements

This course satisfies the NJ State Licensing Requirement for 2 hours of training in the Americans with Disabilities Act for Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Licensees.  The course explains the purpose of the ADA and its relationship to other standards such as NJ Barrier Free Sub-code, ANSI A117.1  and NFPA Life Safety Code, as well as the responsibility of the Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith contractor relative to all these requirements. 

This course satisfies the requirement for 2 hours of training in Industrial Safety for Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm and Locksmith Licensees and all license applicants.  Basic safety standard are covered for all trade workers.
